Keep hair off of your face if at all possible. If you want to keep your bangs, then consider taking showers regularly or keeping your forehead clean with oil-dabbing cloths / clean tissues / etc.

Get good sleep. Stress increases your skin’s oiliness, which, combined with sweat and dirt, can clog pores and cause pimples. (Change your pillowcase frequently.)

Acne medications may cause your skin to initially break out worse than before because all FDA-approved acne medications (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and sulfur) are causing your skin to regenerate faster. This brings existing acne pimples already under your skin (but not visible yet) to the surface, which in turn causes a massive but fortunately temporary break out. Give the medications time to work — about one to two weeks — and you will notice a big difference in the quality of your skin.

See a dermatologist if over the counter remedies does not work. They specialize in skin care and can prescribe you medicines that help you improve it.

Drink plenty of water. Staying well hydrated can help your condition improve, because the "waste management" control system in your body requires a lot of water to do its job. Without enough water, the body has difficulty removing some waste products efficiently.

PostHeaderIcon Say Bye To Acne - Use Facial Pore Cleansers For Natural Glow

It probably does not take a genius to figure out that acne is among the commonest skin ailments in the world. Logically, that should also place it among the most understood skin ailments in the world. However, what is really surprising is the amount of misinformation and myths that have built up around acne. For example, few people know that you can say bye to acne if you use facial pore cleansers for a natural glow.

What options do you have to combat acne?

Though commonplace, acne affects different individuals in different ways. For instance, the severity of the ailment will almost certainly vary from person to person, and you need to keep that in mind while looking for acne remedies. The problem is, there aren’t that many, or at least, not many that are truly effective.

You have probably already tried one medication after another hoping for a cure. Given the competitive nature of the pharmaceutical industry, the sheer number of creams, lotions and over-the-counter remedies available on the market to supposedly combat acne can be bewildering. And the tragedy is that most of these options are completely inadequate when it comes to acne treatment.

For instance, the numerous creams, soaps, and ointments might irritate your skin and even cause rashes. Prescription antibiotics may kill the bad bacteria associated with acne, but will kill the good ones too. Many people think that if they take antibiotics over a long time, their acne will be as good as gone, but that is almost never the case.

What facial pore cleansers should you use?

Therefore, as you can see, facial cleansers with ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin are the only safe bet when it comes to acne remedies. Look carefully before you buy, though. Make sure your acne cleanser has the right moisturizing ingredients, because most acne remedies dry out the pimples at a time when the skin actually needs the extra moisture. Therefore, you should concentrate on gel cleansers, which have minimal drying properties. Once you have cleansed your face with the facial cleanser, apply an anti-acne toner that contains natural extracts like herbal tea. Next, lightly apply an oil-free, light moisturizer.

Finally, and this is vital, you should be aware that your skin condition keeps changing so you should constantly test it for excessive dryness, oiliness, and dullness. Accordingly, you might have to change your cleansing system to prevent acne outbreaks. Better still: conduct a patch test to find out whether your skin has become sensitive to certain substances that you had no problems with earlier.

Once you use a facial pore cleanser, you can say bye to acne in a jiffy, and give your face a natural glow in the bargain!

PostHeaderIcon does oral acne treatments work better then creams and such? and if you know what worked for you?

i have moderate acne, and on the areas of my acne i also have eczema! so its very hard for me to try and deal with both since their opposite problems with opposite needs.

homemade remedy to clear acne for a lifetime:

Things You’ll Need:
All natural facial soap, as pure as you can get it.
Baking Soda
Water
Benzoyl Peroxide, any strenth
Facial Mask, green clay type
Clean dry towel

Wash your skin lightly with an all-natural bar soap. I use Dr. Bronners Lavender bar soap. Be careful not to scrub your skin. All you need to do is to create a nice lather all over and rinse well with clean water.

While your skin is still wet, pour about 2 Tbsp. of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) into your hand. Add to it just enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste all over your face and light work it around your face in circular motions for about 1 minute. Be careful not to press to hard, just use light circular motions. Rinse well with clean water.

Dry your skin by patting it lightly with a towel. Apply the Benzoyl Peroxide ONLY to the active acne spots. Allow to dry and then dab a little mud mask only on the spots. Leave on overnight.

You will gradually reduce the use of Benzoyl Peroxide as your skin clears until you do not use it at all. The Baking Soda works very quickly

PostHeaderIcon What is the best acne treatment for fair skin?

I have very pale and sensitive skin. Also, i have redness that i would Love to get rid of! But i don’t want to spend a fortune! Is there an OTC acne treatment that really works without breaking the bank??

Look for face washes which contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide. This is the key ingredient in some of the best face washes. use a 5-10% benzoyl peroxide of mild to moderate acne and 10% for severe.

Try smashing one tablet of aspirin in a small bowl, then adding lemon juice to the mixture. Aspirin is acetesalicylic acid, chemically related to salicylic acid. Apply to the affected areas overnight. It boosts the healing process while reducing redness.

Try putting toothpaste (paste, NOT gel) on your face, cover it with a bandage, and keep it on all night. When you wash it off in the morning your acne will look better. The astringent and surfactant nature of the toothpaste will help diminish the appearance of pimples. But the toothpaste has been known to burn sensitive skin of the face, so be careful. If your face does burn, stop acne treatments and work on healing your burn.

Try using Bentonite Clay, a natural mineral powder which has been known to absorb impurities and help neutralise the skin’s oiliness, and can be found online. Mix 2 tablespoons with a dash of cold water and smooth over the face as a thick paste. Once dried gently wipe off with a flannel or sponge.

PostHeaderIcon How can I get rid of acne really soon?

I have ALOT of acne…I get about 3 new ones everday. I wash my face and use soap everyday but it only makes it work O:< Has anyone got any tips please :D?

1. DON’T TRY TO WASH IT AWAY
acne isn’t caused by dirt. In fact people with oily skin have cleaner skin than average because they wash it more often. But it’s a fact that washing too much can make acne worse because it makes the skin dry and sore. So, wash no more than twice a day, using mild soap and water. If you have patches of dry skin, don’t worry about putting moisturizer on. It won’t make your acne worse. If you’re still concerned, use an oil free moisturizer.

2. DON’T NUKE ‘EM
There are lots of over the counter creams, gels, lotions and potions. Most contain a powerful bleaching agent called benzoyl peroxide. You’ll find the strength written on the label. You might be tempted to go straight for the highest sort, working on the ‘let’s nuke ‘em principle. The likely result is that you’ll irritate your skin like mad. It may also go all dry and scaly on you. But if you still are willing to bleach then use the mild one.

3. MAKE A DATE - THE TWO MONTH RULE
If you have been using over the counter remedies for two months and there is no real improvement in your spots, this is the moment to go and make an appointment with your doc…
