PostHeaderIcon Yoga as a Cure for Acne

It is only a very small and very lucky few who have never suffered the stress and strain of acne in some form or another. Be it an unfortunately constant barrage of stubborn pimples or just the odd zit every now and again, most of us are familiar with those dreaded little spots.

Although there is no single cause for acne, or a single, simple cure, a great deal of research points to stress, both of the mind and body, as a causing culprit. If this is indeed the case, then no amount of topical pseudo-solutions will help. The problem will need to be addressed in a more natural way and there are a number of steps you can take in order to do this.

Often noted for its aid to relaxation, yoga can be used to help calm and de-stress the body and mind which, although not a cure for acne, can certainly assist in alleviating the root causes.

Yoga attempts to align parts of the body and cause them to work in their natural, harmonious form. By practicing yoga, in an effort to clear up acne, you will increase the blood flow to your face as well as flushing away various toxic agents. This will allow essential nutrients to flow smoothly and unhindered through your skin. In turn, skin will be better able to heal any existing spots or indeed any other problems and fight harder against the onset of additional infections.

There are a large number of resources available which will help you to learn the concepts of yoga and the various positions involved in it. One yoga position which has been linked to clearing up acne is the supine position. Perhaps the most recognised position, it involves sitting down, placing the right heel on the left thigh, close to the hip joint and doing the same with the left heel. Breathing should be deep; in through your nose and out through your mouth.

By implementing this supine position, along with other aspects of yoga, you may be able to control your acne. Your stress levels will be reduced and your blood circulation increased, both of which contribute to not only glowing skin but a more balanced body on the whole.

There are various other natural ways to help control acne apart from yoga. These include detoxification of the body, home made facial scrubs and washes, protecting skin from the elements and changes in diet.

Acne does not have to be a problem. There is a wide variety of treatments available and there will be a treatment that works for you.

    How to cure acne?
I have dry, oily skin, and a lot of acne. I try to eat well and I don't eat any greasy foods, I drink a lot of water, and I do yoga to try and manage my stress, but I still have a lot of breakouts. I've tried just about every product… aveeno… neutrogena… clearasil… acnefree… proactive… biore… zapzyt… oxy… and none of them seem to give me the results I want. I've tried medications that dermatologists have recommended, and I still don't see any long term results. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use?

Remember to wash it daily, and if products from the store won't work, ask your doctor for a prescription. By the way, use acne cleaners that are sensitive but fast- working. What I use once a week on my face is this simple recipe.

    1) Heat up Honey for ten seconds or until runny.
    2) Stir in a fat- free yogurt.
    3) Apply all over face and leave it on for ten minutes.

If this doesn't work, look up more zit- zapping home made masks on the Internet.
    Good luck!
Let me know when you find something that works, I'm curious.

if you have slow digestion and don't defecate everyday, the reabsorbed poison in your intestine might go to your blood stream and cause breakouts. eat lots of fiber, fruits and veggies. your skin health has a lot to do with your general health, because the skin as an organ will have to metabolize all the poison that cannot be metabolized through the digestive tract. hence, bad skin and break outs.

The products you are using, are they salycic acid or benzolyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Almost all washes have it. They try finding a face lotion with it in it. Clean and clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face. I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working!
Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salysic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying fo rme! Good luck

You have to attack acne where it starts, with your diet. For me, diet was the cause and solution. Topical medications fight the symptoms. Start by eliminating trans fats and eating more fruits and vegetables. Once you start cleaning up the inside of your body, by eating properly, the outside of your body (your skin) will be get cleaned up too. I started a website to document my problem and solution.

You might find it helpful to read my story. Just remember to eat an all natural/organic diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from processed foods. Use mild, all natural cleansers and don't pick at your face. Get lots of sleep and enough water for your body weight. Remember, clean body = clean skin. While you're waiting for your skin to clear, remind yourself that acne is a challenge that you will overcome soon. Once you're rid of it, tell all your friends how you did it. That's what I'm doing. God Bless.

    • Cut a clove of garlic in half and, no kidding, dab on your pimple once or twice a day. Garlic kills bacteria and also kills pimples.

    • Mix a teaspoon of red wine vinegar into a cup of water, and dab on spot blemishes, but not on open pimples.

    • Place a thin slice of potato on the pimple at bedtime, secure it with a Band-Aid, and remove it in the morning

    • Cover a blemish with a dab of honey, place a Band-Aid over it, and it will be gone by morning.

    =) goodluck

Here’s one of the effective methods of acne treatment.
    * First of all, warm the skin with a warm compress of water applied to the area of the blackhead. This opens the pores and gives more…."

Ask your dermatologist, I'm sure she has something up her sleeve. Maybe it's a hormonal imbalance, so ask her if she can suggest/prescribe contraceptives/hormone therapy (is that what you call it?)

And as for the rest, religiously cleanse, tone and moisturize! Treat your pimples with medication like Clearasil still.
